Skip Counting

I love skip counting, so do my Kinders. It's so rhythmic and fun! In honor of my love for skip counting, I made some fun flashcards for my kids to use during centers or for extra practice at home. And.... I wanted to share them with you, too! There are three sets to use-- count by 2s, 5s, or 10s! Head over to my TPT store and grab them!
Since I'm still young and consider myself pretty hip, I try to find things to use in my classroom that are also cool and hip! Check out this video on skip counting! My kinders LOVED it!

IN THE JUNGLE!

I finally finished my jungle literacy unit! It has taken me two very long weeks to get it all done. Obviously, I have been very busy with little baby Madden. I am so excited about this unit. It has a ton of great things in it. I cannot wait to use it with my Kinders when I get back!

My favorite part of this unit? The Pocket Chart Syllable Sort. Kiddies sort the jungle animals by how many syllables are in each of their names. How fun! Plus, there is a SUPER CUTE worksheet to go with it. If you want to check it out... Head over to my TPT store!
cute, isn't it?!

Here are some other previews from the unit:

All of my super cute clipart for this unit came from Scrappin' Doodles!

Common Core Woes

I downloaded the Common Core App on my phone so that during my late night baby feedings, I can work on figuring out all the new standards. Oh my goodness. I feel very overwhelmed! There are so many new and different things. It makes me nervous that my Kinders have to learn SO much in just their first year. With testing and grading, I barely have time to teach as it is!
I have been working on a bunch of new math and literacy units that address Common Core Standards. I cannot wait to use them with my kiddies... If I can only find the time to finish all of them :)
